A candlelight vigil for Bryce was held at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17, on the Attallah Piazza for all students, faculty, and staff to join Bryce’s fraternity brothers, teammates, and friends as they share their memories of him. Chapman’s Interfaith Center and Wallace All Faiths Chapel was also open Tuesday night for quiet reflection.
Chapman is a small enough place that we all feel like we’re a family here, and now we have lost one of our own. All of our hearts go out to Bryce's family and friends

Chapman Mourns the Loss of Bryce Turner
As many of you may already have heard, there was a tragic event on our campus last night. Bryce Turner, a sophomore business administration major from Prospect, Kentucky, collapsed while playing an informal soccer game with friends on Wilson Field and later passed away while receiving treatment at St. Joseph's Hospital. Bryce was a member of the men's soccer team and a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. President Doti has asked that our flags fly half mast this week on campus in Bryce’s honor.

ReplyDeleteBryce's friends and family are in our thoughts and our prayers. We pray for the comfort of all those who are touched by this tragedy. As a parent of another Chapman sophomore, I can't imagine your pain. Hopefully the support of the Chapman family will bring just a bit of comfort.

ReplyDeleteA tragedy like this shows that tomorrow is not promised. Take the time to express to those how much you love and care for them. Bryce left this world far too early, but he is now in Heaven shining down on all those around him.
My thoughts and prayers are with Bryce's family now and forever. Bryce was a great guy and he will be missed dearly, but he will remain in my heart forever.

ReplyDeleteIt's been a while since I last saw Bryce. We went to middle school together and he was a great guy. He'll be missed. His family and friends are in my thoughts and prayers.

ReplyDeleteI was fortunate to spend some time with Bryce the Saturday before he died and the one big thing I will always remember is that smile of his. We were never really great friends but he always went out of his way to say hi at school and he really did make everyone feel like he was always interested in what they had to say.

I had the pleasure of first meeting Bryce when he and his best friend John stayed with us as a stop on their road trip out west. His smile, his humor, his genorousity of spirit was apparent and I am thankful my daughter had such a wonderful friend in her life. She is a better person for having known him. He will be missed and in my prayers.

ReplyDeleteI am so shocked and saddened by the loss of Bryce. I met your son about a year ago. We were both designated drivers at a party, and I didn't know anyone there. Bryce came up to me, struck up a conversation, and we were friends from then on. Bryce was one of the kindest and most caring people I have ever met. He was truly an exemplary human being who I was proud to call a friend. Words cannot describe how much I will miss Bryce.
